Arthur Manning

Arthur Manning, Jenny's paternal uncle, was born in 1911 in Topsham, Devon. Within a year of his father's death in action, Arthur was sent to the Draper's School in Purley. On leaving school he became a member of staff in Somerset branches of the Westminster Bank. When World War Two was declared he joined the army and died fighting in Italy in 1943.
