Ella Manning (nee Harrison)

Born Frances Ella Harrison in 1876 - in Lutterworth, Claybrook Magna, Jenny's paternal grandmother, Ella Manning, became a draper's assistant in Bristol. There she met Bert Manning and married him in 1909. They moved to Topsham, South Devon to set up a draper's shop of their own and had two sons, Arthur and David, Jenny's father. Widowed in 1918, Ella continued to run the business, retiring in the 1930s and moving to Bristol where she set up home with her younger son, David. In her later years she lived in a hotel in Newquay and died there in 1943, aged 67.
